New mom Tip #2

free-floral-banner-graphics-fptfy-3-2When the department stores and magazines and baby stores give you that lengthy checklist of “necessities” or “must-haves” to buy for your new baby, there are some things that you really don’t need, some things you do, and a few things that are just convenient to have. Like, how many toys does a baby really need? They will be just as happy with a piece of paper they can crumple and throw and chew on as they would with a  $30 brain development toy from a high-end boutique. Am I right? And those cute little booties and socks that just get kicked off and lost every time you leave the house? Don’t need ’em.
One thing that I did see on a checklist that I thought was ridiculous and not necessary was a baby wipe warmer. “I’m sure my baby will survive with cold wipes…” is what went through my mind. But guess what I was out buying at Babies R Us just a few days after Liam was born? Yep. A fricken wipes warmer ! I learned fast that cold wipes were no big deal during the day, but in the middle of the night, well, would you want YOUR behind wiped with a cold and wet wipe while you are trying to snooze? Not so much. Those 3 AM diaper changes went a lot smoother because sometimes he even just stayed asleep! No more screaming baby and I didn’t mind the warmer wipes on my hands when I was completely sleep deprived.

Plus side  : they actually are decently priced!
The one I have is called the Prince Lionheart Premium Wipe Warmer
It’s $30 at Babies R Us. So all you expecting moms out there or new mommys with little babies- go out and get yourself a wipes warmer. Your babies behind will thank you and so will your sanity.
